Born in Mexico City in the year nineteen ninety one, she arrived in Chicago at the tender age of three.
Her love for music has been handed down from her father, Benjamin Gutierrez - a tenor that trained at the Conservatory of Music in Mexico City; and the one that has led her vocal training over the years.
Fast forward some years where she realized nothing else in life brings her more joy than music and she decided to throw caution to the wind and pursue it as a lifelong career.
She began by uploading videos to YouTube in which she covered popular songs in both English and Spanish.
Her diverse and bilingual repertoire paired with her unique voice is what caught the eyes and ears of
local business owners and other local artists.
As the gigs and collaborations rolled in, she also began work on her first studio EP - a Christmas album titled "First Christmas" which was released on all digital platforms in December of twenty sixteen.
One of her most life changing events to date came during her recent debut on national television
when she competed in a singing competition called "Reina de la Cancion", which aired on Univision network last October. She became a finalist in the Top 24 before being eliminated during the battle rounds.
This was a milestone in Arlette's singing career as she had the opportunity to meet some of the worlds most incredible producers, coaches and artists such as Daddy Yankee, Sergio George, Pedro Capo, Natti Natasha and Olga Tanon to name a few. She was also fortunate enough to forge new friendships and connections with some of the other contestants.
Another life changing moment was the day Arlette got scouted by the creative genius Jack Chicago from Friday Pop Café® -
a music and multimedia production company founded by producer/songwriter Jack Chicago.
She is currently preparing for the release of her first major studio single scheduled in the summer of 2020.
Performing alongside talented musicians has played a big role in her musical growth, and over the years she has performed
with local cover bands such as Mighty Fine Shindig, All In One, AJ Music Show to name a few.
They've performed at various venues, weddings and festivals in Chicago and surrounding areas.
She has also been fortunate enough to meet and work with several great names in music.
Abel Gallardo - a Guatemalan singer/songwriter that toured alongside Ricardo Arjona
during his latest tour called "Circo Soledad".
Together they collaborated on an original song titled "Un Capitulo Mas" (One More Chapter).
Dennis "D WISE" Colon - a Chicago native reggaeton artist and producer
that caught the eye of producer/label executive RUDY ACOSTA
from THE LEGION RECORDS- a distributed label under WEA CORP in association with ATLANTIC RECORDS.
Together, they produced a track for Chicago’s very own DO OR DIE called "ROCK YO BODY"
in which he is featured as a guest artist.
D-WISE has performed on the same stage with stars such as:
DADDY YANKEE, DON OMAR, TEGO CALDERON, ZION Y LENNOX, WISIN Y YANDEL, & IVY QUEEN.
They are currently working on their first studio single together
titled "Receta de Amor" which is scheduled for release in late 2020.
Arlette is determined to continue writing and creating beautiful songs that touch and inspire the lives of those that follow and support her musical journey. She also hopes to inspire other independent artists to work hard to achieve the things they want in life. She wants them to dare to dream, be tenacious and have the ferocity to never give up on their dreams.
"Have your goal always present in your mind and do something everyday to chip away at it..
No matter how big or small what you're doing is, it's always better to make a contribution towards your dream than none at all. There's no better guarantee for success than that."
